Goldwell

Hair & Beauty 2007

At the international trade fair „Hair & Beauty“ at Frankfurt, “Goldwell” presented to eager visitors their unique multimedia trade fair stall, which was built by EBS-lights. Responsible for the stall was the agency “FH Promotion”, the design and the construction was done by Gunnar Zessels highly acclaimed company NA + 1. Director and light-designer Andreas Sollik created an inspiring multimedia show. All the equipment used is owned by EBS-lights GmbH, responsible for the production was Tobias Weiser. Light-, sound- and video programming was done by Matt Finke; Jan Salge was in charge of the Pandoras Box Media Server.

Main feature of the 6 times a day presented show has been the revolving stage, which had an impressive size of 8 m in diameter. The stage, addressed by DMX, was incorporated seamlessly into the programming of the media control. The movement of the lateral sliding doors were controlled by the EBS-lights developed M.O.H.I.D. module. This guaranteed for the doors to open and shut for the models analogue to the rotating direction and –speed.

Not only for the 9 x 5m panorama projection, but also for the additional overhead projection, which was shown on the floor of the revolving stage, Barco FLM R20+ projectors were chosen which were addressed by Pandoras Box Media Servers. This combination allowed a seamless transition between the projections on floor and wall which then created an effective fusion of the models and video action, suggesting an enormous depth effect.

The live picture, which was captured by two Sony DXC-DW50WSPL on-board cameras and the in the rig affixed Dome-camera, was mixed with the aid of the digital scene editing GVG indigo and then put directly into the media server.

The complete lighting of the trade fair stall was done with Martin Mac 700 wash and profile. An additional Pixel Mad Media-Server was used to guarantee the automatic adaptation of the CMY-colour changer of these devices. The video image transmission was connected parallel to the main projection and imported into the media server. With the aid of a specially tuned mask with regulated threshold, the colour value was scanned on fixed positions of the picture. This resulted in the complete lighting of the trade fair stall adjusting automatically to the respective shown video image. Consumers will have heard of this effect as “Ambilight” in connection with large-screen television. For the stage lighting Martin TW1 were chosen, which created an effective contrast to the artificial light. The complete media control was done with a Hog III system. For backup purposes a Hog PC system was used which was integrated redundantly into the network.

Further attractive features were the fluorescent tubes with a capacity of 30kW each, which illuminated the movable walls from within. The effect of the trade fair stall was such that it was easily recognised and it positively stood out from the bulk of the stalls. The approx 180 display cabinets, which were installed into the stands, were illuminated with 12V halogen lamps.

For the acoustic irradiation d&b speakers of the Q-series were used. The main sounding was done with the aid of Q7 and Q10 compact speakers, which were supported by an under the stand installed sub bass expansion consisting of Q-sub in a CSA-arrangement. The complete stall was evenly irradiated acoustically without disturbing the neighbouring stalls, especially in the unpleasant bass range. The direction was done with a Yamaha 01V96 with AD8HR input expansion. All matrix-, EQ-, delay- and level settings were done with ROPE-C and adjusted accordingly to different situations. For the announcement of each show time further speakers were connected which could be heard within a considerable radius - for the show itself they were then disconnected again in order not to disturb neighbouring stalls.

All in all, a multimedia show has been created which had a high level of recognition and which put the product into a unique focus.
